What a pity they closed the shop at lunch time.
=> I wished they kept the shop open at lunch time. It would be so much more convenient for me to be able to run in and grab something to eat or a few things I need during my lunch break.
I also understand that the shop owners may have their own reasons for closing during lunch time, such as needing a break themselves or wanting to give their employees a chance to rest and recharge.
If I were in charge of the shop, I would try to find a way to stay open during lunch time, even if it meant having shorter hours on other days of the week or hiring more staff. I think it would be worth it to provide this convenience to my customers.
