What is the name of the organization that established the teacher’s day in VietNam?

The organization that established Teacher’s Day in Vietnam is the World Federation of Teachers’ Unions (FISE), also known as the Féderation Internationale Syndicale des Enseignants. Founded in Paris in July 1946, FISE is an international trade union organization that represents the interests of teachers worldwide. In 1953, the National Education Union of Vietnam officially became a member of FISE.

In 1957, during the Vacsava international conference, FISE introduced a charter comprising 15 chapters, focusing on the clash between modern education and its bourgeois and feudal counterpart. One of the key decisions made during this conference was the establishment of November 20 as “International Charter of Teachers Day.” This event marked the origin of the November 20th celebration, which later became known as Vietnamese Teacher’s Day.

On September 28, 1982, the Council of Ministers (now the Government) of Vietnam issued Decision No. 167-HDBT, officially designating November 20 as Vietnamese Teacher’s Day. This decision recognized the significant contributions of teachers to the development of education and society in Vietnam.

Since then, Vietnamese Teacher’s Day has been celebrated annually on November 20th to honor and express gratitude to teachers for their dedication, hard work, and selfless service in shaping the future of generations of Vietnamese students.
